Poem: Commencement

Set up all
the folding chairs
for a grand ceremony
an ending to an era
walk across the stage
so many memories
good and bad
some surrounded
by loved ones
others walk alone
today is the first day
of the rest of your life
savor the accomplishment
before starting again
and this becomes
just one chapter
of your life.
