Poem: The Cat Lady

The goddess
of cats
surrounded
by purring
felines
who gather
at their bowls
every day
only the best
fills their
stomachs
the fresh cream
sates their
thirst
they pull
her chariot
willingly
lie in her arms
for comfort
they are quick
to defend her
should she
be threatened
their claws
rend flesh
and bone
asunder
do not disdain
the lady of cats
for she has
the power.
