Poem: Living Forever

Red meat still bleeding
being prepared for the fire
all life burnt away
long before the hunter's arrow
long before the winter snow.

Death serves as fuel
to nourish mind and body
it is not the end
a part still survives within
the heart and the mind.

The heart still beating
The blood circulates around
Energy not lost
some memory still resides
within the subconscious thought.

Living forever
does not mean eternal life
accumulate years
watching eons come and go:
essence endures forever.
