Poem: A Rare Slice of Spring
Warm spring sun
with very low humidity
It is not summer
not yet
A rare surprise
but a welcome one
the bright rays
go through my window
and when I step outside
I smell the newly cut grass
that makes me sneeze
and hear the shrieks of
the neighbor's children
as the first day of break
invites all to play
A slice of spring
before the wave of heat
decides to arrive
in all its scorching glory.
